Starting with Food

We’ll start with food.

Pittsburghers seem unimpressed with Pittsburgh when it comes to food.  This may be a combination of the fact that the city is less diverse than many and closer to the midwest than one might wish.  But in my few times in the city so far, and my research, I have to say, I’m excited about the diversity of food that’s available.

Within walking distance of the new place, there are dozens of restaurants that I’m excited to try out.  My perspective is certainly colored by the even less-diverse character of the NH north where I’ve been living for the past six years.  When it took my office mates and I a solid two years to convince the local Indian restaurant to make the vindaloo spicy, I knew there was a crisis of flavor.

Over the course of the next several months, I’ll try to gather some good links on eating in Pittsburgh. Most of what I will collect here will be about technology with a dash of business, but it never hurts to start with food. Jim would approve.

try Napoli’s Pizza, i know PeterB likes Mineo’s better, but napoli’s has always been my favorite, and it’s so damned hard to get a decent pie in my area that whenever I’m back in the burgh I try to get a napoli’s pizza. Also, there are some awesome little joints down in/around Regent Square…
